Are Diamonds Really A Girls Best Friend?

I just found this other give away at Posh on a Budget. It's a beautiful Diamond Necklace. Go over and check it out.

Who wouldn't love a free pair of shoes?

Shoes Shoes and more Shoes. I love Shoes. Of course I don't have as many now as I use to. Before I was married and a single gal, I had what seemed like a closet full. Well now That I am married with 2 kids I don't really shop for myself  like I did back then . Now it's usually for the boys or for the house (funny how your priorities change). So.. you can imagine how excited I was when I came across this giveaway.  The Blog "Trying to Stay Calm" has a great give away on Naya Shoes and Trey are beautiful. I just couldn't resist entering and maybe, just maybe, I'll win a free pair of shoes.

See You At The Pole

This is when the boys were first dropped off. About 20 people showed total
Well today was SYATP day (See You At The Pole.) Tanner had gone 2 years ago when he was in NEMS. Jordan was still in Elementary at that time.(Bringing Up The Past tells all about it). Then Last year I'm ashamed to say that we forgot. How blessed are we to live in a country where our children can gather in front of their school and pray. To worship our God in song, and not have to worry about being persecuted, well at least not by the law. We can at times be persecuted by our peers and fellow students. I know it can be hard as teens to step out there and show what you believe. To live your life for Christ and not let others influence your decisions. To try and make sure that the friends you keep are going to help influence you positively. To show Gods love to others. I am so proud of my boys. That they, and their friends, stepped out today and showed everyone what they stand for. I pray that They will continue to grow in Christ and stand firm on their beliefs.

17 Years

Well today My husband and I celebrate our 17th anniversary. It seems like just yesterday that I was waking up in anticipation of becoming Mrs. Kenneth Fuchs. Thinking about Hair, makeup, my dress, my girls, wondering what Ken was doing , hoping the day would go without any problems. Well...It didn't. The place we had our reception, had booked another group there also and they had gone in the room and messed with our decorations, (That's just one issue with them) and the vehicle my in laws were in broke down on the way to the reception. Needless to say it had some glitches, but we made it through. Right after the wedding, with everything that had gone on, someone had said to me, It isn't how the wedding goes that's as important as how the marriage goes. That made a lot of sense. You see the wedding was just one day, yes a very important day, and one I'll always remember but the marriage is a lifetime, something I cherish. Through this journey together the past 17 years, we have been through quite a lot in our marriage, some good some bad. Yes we have had some glitches. You see no matter what come's our way we just hang on to our God. He brought us together and gave us our wonderful boys. He never promised that our Journey would be easy but he did promise that he would always be there with us no matter what, and I praise him for that.
Here's to another 17 years,

A Shower of Fun

Tonight we had a shower for my future sister in law Deb. There was lots of food, friends, family, and Fun. I think she was very surprised. Her colors for the wedding are fall colors so that's what we did the decorations in. My mom did most of the work with the help of her friend Donna and my Cousin Debbie who took care of the flowers . Thanks Mom for all your hard work and Donna and Debbie  for your help.

We did Cupcakes instead of a cake.

Fall Feeling

Well the summer is over and school is back in session so I guess Fall is here. I have yet to start decorating for this wonderful season but I guess soon, the trees will be full of bright oranges and yellows and reds. Fields will be turning  from green to a golden brown, and Hay rides and Bonfires will be the big social events. (at least in our neck of the woods). I just love this time of year. As a kid I remember playing in the fields of high grass (when the weather was a little cooler than now)  and playing hiding seek with our dog. I would lay down in the grass then call her and she would come look for me  finding me everytime.  Now of course, it  means  Decorating with pumpkins and fall leaves, gourds and lots of mums. I love taking trips to the Amish shops in PA this time of year and doing some fall shopping for these types of items in particular. It just really seems to put me in the Festive Fall Mood. I will be doing this next month with my mom as I owe her a shopping trip and lunch for her birthday.

Another exciting thing for me this time of year is a change of product line. You see I am a Tastefully Simple Consultant and the Fall Winter products that have come out this season are WONDERFUL. I just love my job. One item in particular is the Pumpkin Patch Bread Mix There are also lots of recipes to do with this product .

  Here is one of them:

Making SHABBY CHIC

This past weekend I had gotten a piece of furniture that I had inherited from my grandparents. It was an old hand made (not sure by who) wooden cabinet that was kept in their basement. My grandfather  had stored things in it. When I saw it though I just thought it was a really neat piece.

We have a pretty good size kitchen but since I started selling Tastefully Simple , I have been wanting some extra space to store that stuff  in, plus some other things. This cabinet is perfect for that.

This weekend can you guess what I did? I painted... I Wiped the whole thing down first with a little bleach water and dish soap (well Ken did ). Hours later when I was sure it had dried well, I primed the whole piece inside and out.

Inside after I primed. I didn't think to take a pic before

Some areas on the inside needed to be primed twice(just because I wanted to be sure it was covered completely) I still had paint left from when I painted our cabinets so I used this color on this piece also. I wasn't sure I'd have enough so I concentrated on the outside first.

I wish I had taken a picture before I put things in it.

Since I had primed the inside and did 2 coats I just left it white, and I had some shelf paper that I went ahead and put on the shelves and the inside of the door to kind of finish it off.
closer look

It's perfect !!
Should have shut the door all the way on the cabinet

Decisions, Decisions,

I know, some of you may be thinking, "Good grief, She's changed it again." Yes I've changed my Blog again. It's not that I didn't like the previous ones that I had , I guess I just get bored and feel like I want something different. I do this sometimes with things in the house too,  like furniture, curtains, paint. If you read my previous Blog  I'm Finiished !!!!!  you may have figured that out already.  It Drives My Husband crazy when I do stuff like that but he is sooo great about it.

Awesome God

I have to say that  My God is such an Awesome God. When  times are tough or you are just having a bad day, he has a way of saying . "Hey remember me, the one who loves you no matter what. The one who watches over you, who is in control of the whole universe and everything in it.Well yesterday, I had one of those reminders.

It was my first Day back to work after being off for 5 days (plus the long weekend) due to my Father in laws passing. I wasn't really that thrilled to be there and I just had a disconnected feeling from the  workplace and my coworkers.  Anyway, I came home from work kind of bummed and just feeling like ..."I'm just going to go and do my job from now on and that's all I can do"  That evening, I went ahead and prepared Dinner and we went ahead with our meal. As we finished up my husband reached around and grabbed our devotions book and began to read the scripture that was listed for that day. This was it......Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ. Colossians 3:23-24

How Awesome is that?  OF ALL DAYS FOR THAT TO BE THE TOPIC. My God was speaking to me. He knew I needed this discussion that evening. It was like.. that's the attitude I need to remember to have, not the previous one.  You see I knew this scripture I just needed to be reminded of it. And He was there saying " Hello,  Remember ?????....

Pics from the past

My husband is very much into the whole genealogy thing. Today he is going through a bunch of old pictures that my parents have and is scanning them into our computer. There are many interesting people in our family tree but one in particular is My Great Great Grandfather, Abiah Miller. He was a Civil War Soldier. (The Civil War is another thing that interests us a lot.) This is Abiah on the right.
We actually have some buttons from his uniform that my grandmother had given us quite some time ago. We have a total of six but I only have 2 pictured .

 Pretty Cool Huh ?
