An unexpected day off.

Well I was home from work today. Jordan was up last night sick to his stomach. Sunday morning in Church he said he had a Headache and he was sick Sunday evening also. So when He woke me up at 1:30 in the morning to tell me he threw up, I wasn't really surprised. I know, I didn't even wake up on my own, how horrible of a mom is that. He had a little tub next to him to use but he pretty much missed it. Needless to say I was throwing in a load of laundry in the middle of the night to wash sheets. With all the flu stuff going around I didn't want to leave them sit. He seems to be doing better this evening, he said his head still hurt a little this afternoon but I think he's good now. By tomorrow after a good nights sleep, he should be good as new.

Home Sweet Home

Well the boys are back from CA. they got home around 2am this morning. They (needless to say) are still in bed at 9am. They probably will be for a while. Now the fun part of trying to get them back on East Coast time. I had included this day in with the days requested off from school for the trip. I figured they'd need a day to recoup and make sure school work is accurately done etc. before going back. Ken picked my parents and the boys up from the airport. I had to stay home because there wouldn't have been enough room for us all in the car on the way back. The boys came bouncing in the house all wide awake and stuff, talking a mile a minute. It was so good to see them. After hugs hugs and more hugs, They did a quick observation of the house for any changes since they'd been gone (there was a major one but that's for another blog, it isn't quite finished yet) then started giving us the things they had gotten for us out there. Finally we all got ourselves up and headed to bed. I'm sure today will be full of more stories about their trip which I can't wait to hear. Ken and I did enjoy our time together and I did enjoy my quiet evenings when Ken was working, but without the boys here, there is a piece of home missing. It is now again... Home sweet Home.

Bringing up the past.

Well there isn't a whole lot going on right now. I'm still missing the boys a lot. It's getting here pretty lonely here without any of my guys. I just want the boys to have a great time.

Any way, I just thought I'd post some of my old blogs on here that I had put on myspace.

Well I must say I am not much of a blogger but as we get in to the start of a new year, I thought I would maybe try to blog some. We finally took our tree and decorations down this Saturday and I have to say as much as I like to get our home back it is always a little depressing. All the anticipation and planning for the Christmas Holiday and it is over so quickly.Going back to work after all that time off isn't that fun either. As some of you may have seen we have had a pretty exciting end of the year .WE have had to replace our Alero and we found this great Malibu, But we have had some disappointment also. We were so close again to getting an offer on our home that will be on the market for a year the end of February. We had some buyers that had come to look during Christmas break and then came back for a second look the day after New years. After some consideration, they decided to go with a 3 bedroom instead of our 2 . Talk about disappointment. I know that we have put the whole situation in Gods hands and with that I trust that this just wasn't his time for us, not our time but his. However, when we hear music next door @ all hours of the night and stomping up and down the steps, yelling at the TV during a game, all this through the walls, I just can't help but wonder how long the Lord is going to Keep us here. I know though that he has a plan and If I just keep putting my trust in his will He sees The bigger picture. So As we get in to the new year I just pray that it will be a good and safe year for all of my friends and family out there. God Bless

Sept. 26th 2008

Ok I tried to type this yesterday and had connection problems and ended up losing it all so I have to start over. Wednesday was national SEE YOU AT THE POLE DAY, which is where kids can gather around the flag pole at their middle and high schools before school starts and have a time of prayer and worship. In a world today where Christians can be criticized and untolerated in the public schools, this can be a very hard thing (especially for a little fish in a big pond). Tanner came home Tuesday and reminded us that Wednesday was SYOTP day. I asked him if he wanted to go and he said yes. This meant that I would have to get myself up and get going a half hour earlier than normal, but I was not going to discourage him. So I asked him if any of his friends were going to be there and he said he didn't know. So we get up the next morning and are off to school (the sun isn't even totally up yet). The first thing Tanner says when we pull up is
Mom, there is no one here my age. He is only in the 6th grade. There were only a few kids and a few facualty there. I told him that's ok you're doing this for the Lord not yourself. He hopped right out of the car and took his place at the pole and didn't look back once. None of his friends ever did show up at the pole. For him to take the initiative on his own to want to do this, stand up and show who he is and what he believes and not worry what others think made me very proud. This may not seem like a big thing to some but for him I know it was. A big step in standing up to all the peer pressures and temptations that will surely come his way the rest of his middle and high school career.

Our Saturday Outing

Well today was a really nice day. Ken and I took advantage of our time without kids and went to PA and spent the day there. We went to the Kitchen Kettle Village first. There we stocked up on some more Jalapeno Jam and just walked around. Then we left there and stopped at another place where we found a wooden basket to put over our well pipe out front. They had a mum in it but the mum didn't come with it and they didn't sell any there but, the basket was on sale so we got it for 5 dollars off. From there we headed back and found a place that had mums. We found a really nice one for 4 something so our whole basket and mum was about 30 dollars which wasn't bad at all. We did however have to make the hole in the bottom of the basket bigger to fit over the well pipe but as you can see from the picture, we got it to work, and I love it. after getting the mum we continued to head back and stopped at the outlets. We ate at the Ruby Tuesday there and then hit a few of the shops. Ken found a little Ravens snowman ornament to put on the tree that we will put in the Raven's room this Christmas and I found some blue Christmas Balls for 50% off. I want to do our Christmas Decorations in Blue and white and silver this year. So I am pretty tired. Next Saturday we will still be kid free so Ken is going to pick where he wants to go. Not sure where that will be yet but I'm sure it will be fun.

" Just the 2 of us "

Well, Here I am again.. I know it's been a while. I really am not much of a writer I guess. The boys left yesterday with my parents to go out to Cali. They are visiting my sister and her family. They were super excited to go. I haven't heard from them today but I'm sure they are having a great time. They will be back on the 18th. They have been out there before but they were like 1 and 3 so they really don't remember it. These are pictures of them on the plane on our trip before.

. Tomorrow Ken and I may take a drive to Bird in Hand PA, go to some of the Amish shops and stuff. Hopefully the weather will be nice. I went last Saturday with my sister in law Debbie. We had a really nice time. There is just so much to see so I'd like to go back again.

Tanner is doing Great. Doing fantastic in school and adjusting very well. I am seeing how he is handling himself in certain situations in school (1 particular bully situation)in such a Christ like manner that makes me so proud . Problem was solved.

Jordan is doing really well Medically Praise God. He went to see the endocrinologist before his trip. He doesn't have to go back there for a while but he will have to go have more lab work done when he gets home. We are still working on trying to get his Synthroid and strattera adjusted. That's a little rough. Jordan just amazes me with the strength that he has facing this cancer. He does know now that his papillary carcinoma is cancer. I know where that strength comes from and I believe he knows where it comes from. Seeing God work in Jordan is just Amazing.
