UP ALL NIGHT

Well this past weekend was like no other. We did the Relay for Life walk for the American Cancer Society. It was at Essex Community College. Jordan got to help carry the sign in the survivor walk. There were 110 survivors at the walk. They had a little ceremony to recognize them all. We set up a spot with a tent which the boys ended up sleeping in part of the night. I had snacks and drinks in a cooler. I didn't need to bring them though because they were serving food for free (to people that raised over a certain amount. We got a wrist band to show) At 4 am they were still serving food and drinks. Music was playing all night by a dj that was there. At one point he let people do a little Kereoke. I did a couple of songs. There were people playing volleyball, tossing a football, and of course people walking the laps. Every 15 minutes they had a different theme like American spirit, pajama lap cartoon characters, a glow theme so that kept it really interesting. They had a lighting of all the luminaries and they played Save a place for me by Matthew West. this was a very emotional time for a lot of people.
On a hill they spelled out Hope and later in the night they changed it to cure.
We had some friends and family there most of the night but Ken's sister and the 4 of us are the only ones in our team that stayed the whole night. There were some friends on other teams that stayed too.

The whole night was just full of activity. The people there were so amazing and full of warmth. It was something to hear all of their stories. It was such an awesome thing to be able to raise money for such a cause and take part in this great event. I am so ready to do it all again next year.
