And then there was 2

Well The 2011- 2012 school year has come to an end. Tanner has successfully completed his 9th grade year in the stem program with All A"S as well as being on the School JV soccer team  participating in several travel soccer team tournaments and still participating in Church youth activities.  We are Super Proud of Him...

Jordan has successfully Completed his 8th grade year while still continuing to take part in church youth activities, keep up with home chores and be his usually fun social self. He also took place in a school Geography Bee this school year and won First place We are Super proud of him too.

This leaves us to what the next year holds. Not only will Tanner be in High school but Jordan will now be going in to HS too. I just can't believe that Both of my boys are HS students. It just seems like yesterday that they were in Elementary school.

This brings  me to something that I thought was pretty neat. When Jordan graduated from 5th grade, we got his picture with the school principal. Well that school principal was transferred at the beginning of this past school year to the middle school that Jordan was going to. Now not all of the students  at the MS had this principal in elementary because we had moved and so our district changed. Anyway I thought it would be neat to get a picture of the two of them together now and compare the difference since 3 years ago.

On the left is Jordan 3 years ago at his 5th grade promotion with Mr. Edwards his principal. On the right is him today at his 8th grade promotion with Mr. Edwards . What a change in him in just 3 years. The plaque behind them on the wall is for the Geography Bee that Jordan won first place in earlier this year. I wish I had gotten a close up of that.

The Walk (Written Sat. Evening published Sun.)

Today I am extremely tired. It is going on 9 pm and I have not been to bed in 48 hours. Last night we did the Relay For Life Walk. We got there about 5pm and left about 5:30 this morning.

They started out with a dinner for the survivors and their caregivers.

My sister in law Debbie helping serve

After eating we went out to put up our canopy. We had put our small tent up before dinner and we should have gone ahead and done the canopy too because it Down poured while we put that up. That was the only rain we had all night.

This year some friends did the walk with us,We don't see them that often so it was really great to spend time with them.

Oh Christmas Tree

Well we got our tree up today. We did the Blue LED lights again. I really love the LED lights. They are a little more money but I think they are sooooo worth it. Maybe next year we will try another color theme but who knows. If we do I'd like to get more LEDs because we only got enough last year for the tree.

In the Raven's Room the boys did a little sports tree. It has a mixture of Kens basketball and Raven's ornaments on it. The lights aren't LED on this one because these are just some lights we had from before. Can you see the difference?

The Tree

My Dad and Ken shaking the Tree
Still Shaking the tree
Well today we got our tree. Ken goes to the 3 to 11 shift for the next 2 weeks and this was pretty much the only time we could get it as a family. We just go to my parents house and get it every year. You see they live right next to a tree farm and during the week they sell the trees for the tree farm since they live right there. We didn't put it up yet, I think we will probably do that tomorrow. We still have to get up in the attic and pull down all the tree Decorations. I hope to finish off the house decorating too. I just love this time of year.

Cool Coffee Maker

Back in the summer of 2009, our son Jordan was in A. I.  hospital for 8 days. A. I.   had a room where Families of children that were staying in the hospital could go just to relax and get away for awhile. It has couches, tables, books, computers, and a little kitchen that we had access too. This is where we first came across the Keurig  Coffee maker. We thought it was the neatest thing and there were so many different flavors to pick from. We would pass up a regular cup of coffee that we could get right in the room when they brought the courtesy cart around and go down to another floor just to get one of those Keurig cups.
Well now, over at Thanks Mail Carrier  you have a chance to win one of these wonderful machines. Just hop on over and find out how.

See You At The Pole

This is when the boys were first dropped off. About 20 people showed total
Well today was SYATP day (See You At The Pole.) Tanner had gone 2 years ago when he was in NEMS. Jordan was still in Elementary at that time.(Bringing Up The Past tells all about it). Then Last year I'm ashamed to say that we forgot. How blessed are we to live in a country where our children can gather in front of their school and pray. To worship our God in song, and not have to worry about being persecuted, well at least not by the law. We can at times be persecuted by our peers and fellow students. I know it can be hard as teens to step out there and show what you believe. To live your life for Christ and not let others influence your decisions. To try and make sure that the friends you keep are going to help influence you positively. To show Gods love to others. I am so proud of my boys. That they, and their friends, stepped out today and showed everyone what they stand for. I pray that They will continue to grow in Christ and stand firm on their beliefs.
