Insect or Fowl ?

The other evening I was sitting on the back deck and I happen to see this thing hovering around some flowers we have. At first I thought it was a little humming bird because of the way it was kind of still in mid air except its wings which were going so fast you couldn't really see them. When I got the camera however and got a closer look, I could see that this thing didn't look like any hummingbird. It looks like some kind of insect or something. Some one said it looks like a cicada but I'm not sure, I've never seen a cicada like this. Does anyone have any idea? Whatever it is it's pretty interesting.

A Great Fourth of July Weekend

Well the fire works are all done, and Another Fourth of July has officially Come and gone. I love it when Holidays fall close to the weekend like this one did because they tend to last longer so to speak.

Well Friday and Saturday Ken had to work so I tried to just do some work around the house here. Sunday however, we had a day FULL of Fun.

We went to church in the Morning and then after church we had been invited to our Assistant Pastors House, for a cookout and swim. We had a really great time. The kids swam and the adults just hung out and chatted and played games. We were introduced to a new game called Kubb.

This game was great and I really enjoyed myself. There is quite a strategy to it but it isn't that hard to catch on.  We left there about 5pm. Not because the party was over or because everyone else was leaving but...  because we had somewhere else to go. Thanks so much to Pastor Wayne and Beth for having us.

My Brother Buzz and Sister in law Deb, had invited us and other family to their house that evening  for Dinner and to watch Fireworks. They live right on the river so you can sit there and see the fireworks from North East.

The boys and Ken went swimming (2nd time for the boys)  while my sister and I took pictures of the scenery.  As it started to get Dark we got in our Chairs and gathered for the Fireworks. The fireworks were really nice, The dinner was great, and the company was fantastic. Thanks again Buzz and Deb.

Monday the 4th, After visiting Ken's Mom, Ken and the Boys and I, Swam in our pool, Cooked hotdogs and smores over the fire pit, and watched fireworks from our back deck and our driveway. It was truly a fourth of July filled with , Family friends Fireworks and fun.
